The department of Horticulture came into existence in 2013.Horticulture is the branch of agriculture concerned with Fruit science, vegetable science, floriculture, post harvest management, spices and condiments, medicinal and aromatic crops and plantation crops that are raised for economical production. It includes day to day care, selective crops and the raising of plants. Where as fruit production under fruit science, vegetable production under olericulture, flower production under floriculture and processing under post harvest management.

Post-harvest Management and Value Additions of Horticultural Crops |
1. Total 2.5 ha area is under cultivation of different Horticultural activities like greenhouse, ornamental museum, crop cafeteria, pomegranate mother orchard, guava mother orchard and banana plantation etc.
2. The nursery grafts of different fruits and vegetable crops like pomegranate seedling, guava seedling, ornamental seedling and vegetable seedlings were prepared in Shriram Nursery and sold to local farmers and near market area.
1. Module activity – The module of vegetable production is conducted for B.Sc. Agri VIII semester students. The 0.20 ha farm area is allotted to module students. Under this module cultivation of different vegetables was taken like Broccoli, Lettuce, and Spinach, Brinjal, Okra, Cucumber, Watermelon, Chilli and Cabbage. These vegetables were sold to local farmers and near market area.
2. The practical of field preparation, nursery raising, propagation practices like grafting ,budding, layering was practically done by students in field.
